In early 1984, my father -- a General Contractor -- became a distributor for a company that manufactured light gauge engineered building systems. At that time, we only sold and installed these systems. I was 22 years old and an installation supervisor.
I quickly became aware of the benefits and potential that light gauge metal components could have in the future of construction. In 1989 I opened my first light gauge metal truss and engineered building company. At that time, only about five companies in the United States manufactured these types of systems, and the workload took me across the United States and to the Middle East.
Today, our management team has more than 130 years of combined experience in the construction industry. We have since seen the light gauge metal components industry grow from a barely known entity into one of the most widely used technologies in all of construction. There is still much room for growth; new and exciting uses of light gauge metal are still being uncovered.
